VERKA BUYS 55% EXTRA MILK FROM FARMERS IN AMRITSAR

AMRITSAR: The Verka milk plant, owned by the MILKFED, purchased 55% extra milk from Amritsar farmers during Covid-19 lockdown, said Amritsar milk plant general manager Harminder Singh Sandhu on Tuesday. During launch of Rs 10 curd packs, weighing 200 gm, Singh said, “Under the Mission Fateh of the state government, Verka milk plant has decide to launch affordable protein-rich curd in a small packing. During lockdown, Verka decided to buy extra milk from local farmers so that they can earn a livelihood by selling milk. Also, Verka has cut down prices of curd packing and other products, to make them affordable.” HTC
