Pay cut for Vistara senior executives; IndiGo extends LWP

MUMBAI: Replacing its leave without pay policy (LWP) that was implemente­d from April to June, the full service carrier- Vistara, on Tuesday, announced pay cuts ranging from 5% to 20%, for 40% of its employees for the entire year citing effects of Covid-19 pandemic. These 40% employees, according to airlines, consist of management level employees and licensed engineers, and does not include pilots. Vistara als o declared that its chief executive officer will be taking a 20% monthly pay cut from July 1 to December 31, 2020, adding that it will implement graded monthly pay cuts for staff at other levels.

Meanwhile, India’s largest domestic airline, IndiGo, on the other hand, extended leave without pay LWP for its pilots.
