Brian Lara calls the 30-year-old batsman a class act. It was his 79* against Rajasthan Royals that drew the legend’s praise. He displayed his full range of strokes, cricket intelligen­ce and daring in the match.

For Mumbai, he scored 508 runs (10 innings) in Ranji Trophy, 226 runs (4 innings) in Vijay Hazare Trophy (50-over) and 392 runs (10 innings) in Mushtaq Ali T20.

Rahul Tripathi (KKR)

The underrated batsman made his presence felt in the KKR line-up scoring 36 (vs DC) and 81 (CSK) in his first two matches. A versatile player who adjusts to all three roles-at the top order, middle order or coming in the slog overs.

In domestic cricket, the 29-year-old is an experience­d player for Maharashtr­a with 44 first-class games (avg: 33.22) and 36 List A ties (avg: 27.29).

Rahul Tewatia (RR)

His 53 off 31 balls against KXIP turned him into an overnight star, smashing seven sixes to help RR pull off a record 224-run chase. The left-handed batsman, 27, repeated the match-winning act in RR’s last game against SRH, scoring 45*.

The 27-year-old is a T20 specialist and helped his state, Haryana, reach the semifinal of the 2019 Mushtaq Ali T20 with 183 runs in 10 innings.

With his ability to bowl swinging, low full-tosses and land accurate yorkers, the left-arm pacer has emerged as Sunrisers Hyderabad’s most valuable bowler. Among the 29-year-old’s nine scalps (till Tuesday) includes M S Dhoni.

The TN pacer took 12 wickets (11 matches) in Vijay Hazare, 13 (11 matches) in Mushtaq Ali and 18 wickets (5 matches) in the Ranji Trophy.
