SUKHBIR HAS NOT REPLIED TO MY QUESTIONS ON SACRILEGE FOR YEARS: SIDHU
AMRITSAR: Attacking former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and ex-deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on the issue of Bargari sacrilege, Congress MLA from Amritsar East constituency Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday said he has not heard a reply from Sukhbir to a question he raised a few years ago.
In a Tweet, he said, “I have been challenging the Badals since 6 November 2018 to come clean on their inside engineering behind sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib Ji ... Arm-twisting Dera Sadh for Vote Bank Politics. Where does he stand on these facts ?? Have not heard a reply from him for years (sic).”
He also shared video clips of his old press conferences on his FB page, wherein he is seen cornering Badals on the issue of sacrilege and recalling 2007 Akal Takht’s religious decree that calls Sikhs to boycott Sirsabased Dera Sacha Sauda due to the blasphemy allegedly committed by its head Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
In response to Sukhbir’s statement asking him and others to share evidence they claim to have on sacrilege cases, Sidhu said in another tweet on Sunday, “Enough Cognizable Evidence available against Badals, says Justice (retd) Ranjit Singh Inquiry Commission Report. In Sept 2018, I shared in Public Domain, statements by Doctors, Ex-DGP & Civil Administration that prove actions at Kotkapura Chowk were consentual with then CM (sic),” he posted on Twitter with a nine-minute video of his statement made at that time.
He further said that this closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage was hidden from Justice Zora Singh (retd) inquiry commission during the Badal regime, but was later dug up by Justice Ranjit Singh.
