‘Nothing wrong in hoisting Nishan Sahib’
KARNAL Actor-activist Deep Sidhu, accused of violence in Delhi on Republic Day, said that there is nothing wrong in hoisting
the Nishan Sahib.
“Nishan Sahib is a religious flag and a symbol of the sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus for the nation. Nishan Sahib should be installed at every household of Delhi,” he said.
“It is about faith. Even the army carries Nishan Sahib during wars,” he said during his meeting with the Nihang Sikh outfits of Dabkheri village in district.
Reacting over allegations he is facing for the Red Fort violence on Republic Day, he said it was a peaceful protest but what will a protester do if the police start beating him up? “I don’t think self-defence is not a crime,” he added. He slammed leaders of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha for writing to the Prime Minister for a meeting to resume talks to end the stalemate over the issue.
