Drone shot down along Pak border; 2-kg heroin seized

Two packets of heroin (weight approximately 2 kg) and a small packet containing 100 gm of opium were also recovered near the drone. This is the 6th drone gunned down by border security (BSF) at the Punjab border with Pakistan in the period of one week. A senior BSF official, who wished not to be named, said, “Since the foggy season has begun, we have been witnessing increased movement of drones at the border. Sometimes, drones, which fly high, return after delivering contrabands.” On Friday, five Assault rifles along with five magazines and five pistols along with five magazines were recovered in Ferozepur sector. Similarly, on Saturday, 7.5 kg of heroin, a pistol, 2 magazines and 50 live rounds suspected to be dropped by a drone were recovered in Fazilka district.
