Uttarakhand government has sealed a deal with a production house for a reality show named “100 days in heaven” promoting the state’s tourism with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan as its host. The decision was taken by the government in its cabinet meeting led by chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Friday late evening in Dehradun.

The reality show which will be run whole year of 2021 ahead of the next assembly polls will be telecast on three private TV channels.

Informing about the decision, state urban development minister and government spokesperson Madan Kaushik said, “The government has struck a deal of about ₹12 crore with a private production house which will be producing the complete show and then telecast it on the three channels with Amitabh Bachchan as its host.”

Kaushik said, “The show will promote the state’s tourism by showing numerous beautiful tourist spots of Uttarakhand.”

Informing about other decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, the minister said that apart from the aforementioned one, decisions were taken on 16 other proposals by the cabinet.

“Among the other decisions, the government approved a set of rules for the release of jail inmates on January 26 and August 15 who are serving life imprisonment in various jails of Uttarakhand. The cabinet also approved the rules for recruitment of chairman and secretary in state pollution control board,” said Kaushik.

He also informed that the government has removed the condition of one year experience of working in a 30-bed hospital for the aspiring nurses.

“This has been done as many aspirants were unable to apply for about 1300 vacant positions in the state,” said Kaushik.

The minister also informed about the hike in the wages of artisans in Uttarakhand Khadi and Gramudyog Board by 50%.

“This will benefit about 250 artisans working in the Board as their wage will now increase from ₹250 to ₹375.

The hike was required as they didn’t have one since 2012,” he said.
