JeM militant, three aides arrested in Kulgam
A Jaish-e-Mohammed militant and three associates were arrested in south Kashmir’s Kulgam with arms and ammunition on Wednesday.
The active militant was identified as Zeyan Javid Dar, a resident of Ushkuru Baramulla while the associates are Zahid Nazir Mantoo and Umer Yousuf
Bhat , of Feeripora,Shopian, and Muzaffar Ahmad Banday, of Mandujan, Shopian.
A police spokesperson said, “Acting on a specific information regarding the movement of terrorists, a special checkpoint was established at Bogund village. During checking of vehicles, three people in an Alto vehicle were signalled to stop, who on seeing the search party tried to escape but were apprehended,” he said, adding that another associate was separately apprehended from the checkpoint.
“As per police records they are affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM,” the spokesperson said, adding that incriminating material, including arms and ammunition, was recovered from their possession.
“A case was registered at the Kulgam police station.
