SHIMLA: Congress MLA and chairman of the state media department Harshwardhan Chauhan said there is complete chaos and anarchy in state due to the inept handling of employees’ grievances by the BJP regime.

Addressing a press conference in Solan on Thursday, he said one should understand the state of mind of the police personnel who despite being a disciplined force have been forced to resort to peaceful protests.

“The issue should not be taken lightly as they have boycotted the mess food as a sign of protest against non-fulfilment of their demands,” he said.

Chauhan said when the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, a BJP-affiliated outfit, and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) are openly lashing out at their own government, it is obvious that things are not right.

He demanded a white paper be issued on the financial position of Himachal so that people know where the state stands.

“The debt burden of the state has crossed Rs 70,000 crore and yet, no steps have been taken to cut down wasteful expenditures as the Centrw has not given any financial or industrial package to

Himachal,” he said.

“What the government gave the employees in terms of pay commission recommendations and reduction in contractual period is their legitimate right, which was part of the BJP’s vision document, issued before the 2017 assembly polls,” he added.

He said CM Jai Ram Thakur has claimed that BJP lost the bypolls by just 1% but that’s not true.

“The difference in vote share of 20 assembly segments was 5.5% and not 1%. In Mandi, Congress bridged four lakh votes gap even though we won by a slender margin,” he said.

He added that the BJP candidate in Jubbal Kotkhai got just 2700 votes and forfeited her security deposit.
