FLAUNT YOUR SPRING STYLE

- POOJA SINGH

Spring is here and time to dress up, to add lots of pastels and white to your wardrobe. Store away all your woollens and pull out lighter breathable fabric, be it cotton, linen or khadi, and stay cool and pepped up. A student of Amity University Medha Singh, says, “Spring is that time of the year when I revamp my look and wardrobe both. I love experimenting with trends that are not just inspired from runways but also from the stars. The local market as well as the branded stores all are offering their spring/summer collection replete with dresses, footwear and accessories. Budding designer Surya Shukla from NIFT says, “Many youngsters think that there is not much change in the trends this year but that is a wrong perception. Lots of flares and skirts in soothing shades have made their way to our wardrobes. And one must update his or her wardrobe.”

TOPS

Tank tops with layering and button up shirts are flooding the markets this year. Essence of it derives from loose shirts in pastels. Diksha Singh, a student of BBD University, says, “Though I have many shirts but the spring look only comes from this button up shirt that I have.” Blue, black and white are most popular among college goers. Pavni Mehrotra, a student of Amity University, says, ‘Blue, black and white are evergreen denim colors that look classy in buttons ups when tucked into the pants.

BOTTOMS

Denim jeans remain the favourite among girls this year too. Tight-fitting, anklelength and knee ripped jeans with tucked in button up shirts are most popular. FBB salesman Rohit says, ‘Denim jeans are widely accepted by ladies, especially tightly fit, ankle length and ripped at the knees. Denim skirts too are equally favorite of those who find tight jeans a little uncomfortable. Pakhi Sajwan says, “I have long legs and like to flaunt them in denim skirts.”

FOOTWEAR & ACCESSORIES

Without great looking footwear no dress can be complete. Gunjan, a working professional, says, ‘I have short height so I prefer elevated flats that complete the look.” Silver, gray and white are the popular color preferences. Accessories like tinted dark frames and long hanging bags are convenient and comfortable. Tanya Bhatnagar, a model, says, “During outdoor shoots my dark shades and big tote come in most handy.”
