Beauty expert Blossom Kochhar on her recent visit to the state capital went gaga about Lucknow folks and cuisine. “Jewellery and women in Lucknow are very elegant. Food here is out of the world and it’s also improving in beauty as women are now more aware of things,” she tells HT City.

She was here with her daughter Samantha Kochhar. “During the workshop I observed that people here are now more inclined towards natural products, essential oil and kitchen stuff, which are in fact a very good thing. Some chemicals in products not just damages skin but can also cause dreaded diseases. This is why natural household products are always good,” she says.

Blossom gives a string of beauty tips for readers, “What you put on the face you should be able to eat and vice versa, is her mantra for a good skincare natural product. Kitchen products if used in the right combination with essential oils can do wonders.”

So ladies, have a dekko in your kitchen arsenal and get ready to rock this summer with the beauty expert’s tips:

For dry skin, mash a banana, put a teaspoon of honey and mix it all. Then put a drop of rose or jasmine oil and apply it on your skin leaving it for 20 minutes and rinse.

If you got open pores then squash a few tomatoes, put a drop of rose or lavender oil and apply it on the face for 20 minutes and rinse.

Mix watermelon juice with rose essential oil and milk powder and apply the paste on your face. This pack is full of minerals and will brighten up the skin.

To do away with tan, apply papaya, yogurt and lemon mix. It lightens and brightens the skin and also removes dead cells.

A lot of people are using dyes these days and for that they need to moisturize the hair. Take normal herbal oil, put a teaspoon of glycerin, a teaspoon of malt vinegar, two drops of lavender oil, little conditioner and shampoo. Apply it for half an hour and then shampoo hair.

For falling hair, grate a coconut and take out its milk and then mix two drops of rosemary oil and apply for 30-60 minutes before washing it off. Hair fall should stop and if it does not then consult a doctor.
