“Yes, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad has won the ‘Popular Choice award’ at Atta Galatta Bangalore Literature Festival 2017. It’s a prestigious award, especially since it has been decided directly by people and represent their choice,” says an insider.

Apparently, also in contention were other books such as Chetan Bhagat’s One Indian Girl and Karan Johar’s An Unsuitable Boy besides works of other authors such as Durjoy Datta and Ravi Subramanium. “For the same category, fans and followers of the authors/writers voted. It’s a big honour for any writer/ author to win an award at this literature festival,” says the insider.

Alongwith Twinkle’s book, other books who’ll take away the prizes are The Small Town Sea by Anees Salim (fiction), Lone Fox Dancing by Ruskin Bond (non fiction) and Bolwar Mahammad Kunhi (achievement in Kannada Literature). Twinkle couldn’t be reached for a comment.
