Haridwar girl making inroads in Bollywood
Hailing from a village in Uttarakhand, Himanshi Chaudhary (17) has succeeded in realising her Bollywood dreams.
Himanshi recently bagged a role in Golmaal series and Singham fame directorproducer Rohit Shetty’s venture ‘Meter Chalu, Batti Gul’ which is a social melodrama. Her ‘GST-Galti Sirf Tumhari’ got released on December 8. Despite being a low budget film, it successfully recovered the production cost and provided a platform to her to showcase her acting talent.
Hailing from a Jat family in Jagjeetpur village, Himanshi never gave up and continued to hone her acting and dancing skills. She eventually won the Dancing Star Season-2 reality dance show, which gave her media attention.
Talking to the HT, Himanshi said bagging a role Rohit Shetty’s film was a dream come true for her. “It will be a multi starrer as is the case with Shetty’s films. It will feature Katrina Kaif and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles,” says Himanshi, who left her schooling midway to chase her dream.
“I will work hard live up to Rohit (Shetty) sir’s expectations. As I want to make it big in Bollywood, I declined television serial offers and concentrated only on silver screen,” she says.
“Another project, ‘Go To Hell’, will go on the floor by January-end. It has several newcomers as well as experienced actors. I have an important role in the movie,” Himanshi says. Shooting of both these films will be done in Uttarakhand for which location staff will arrive by December-end.
