SONAM, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, STUNS ON THE RED CARPET

True fashion is always a showcase of individuality. It does the unexpected and doesn’t bow to conventions. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja stayed true to the freewheeling spirit of fashion at the Cannes Film Festival 2018. The actor ditched predictable gowns and pants suits, and surprised everyone with an ivory lehenga by Australian couturiers, Ralph & Russo. A romantic mix of old and new, the voluminous skirt, dramatic floor-grazing sleeve of the cropped blouse and ethereal leafy embroidery gave it a refreshing, global feel. The newlywed looked stunning in the attire, which was teamed with middle-parted hair in a nofuss plait. Her traditional hair accessory, a beautiful naga jadai, invoked a vintage princess bride vibe.

We also loved that she showed off the mehendi on her hands, which could have been tricky to pull off with a western gown. Also, the kohl-lined eyes and restrained makeup with a touch of pink on the lips perfectly complemented the attire. What do you think of Sonam celebrating Indianness with a twist at the festival?
