TRIPLE DOSE OF LAUGHTER!
The three-day Hasya Natak Samaroh saw a packed house witnessing ribtickling performances.
Three generations of stage actors came together at the Sant Gadge Ji Maharaj auditorium of Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy to put up the ‘26th Babu Hardiyal Vastav Hasya Natak Samaroh’ organized by the drama collective Manchkriti.
The plays were performed on separate evenings by separate ensembles. Urmil Kumar Thapliyal, an eminent member of the theatre community, said, “This samaroh is a forum for local theatre groups who come together to celebrate theatre in its various flavours.”
The samaroh opened on Sunday with the play ‘Suraj Kaha Se Ugta Hai’. The play was presented by Manchkriti, written by Shyam Narayan and directed by Urmil Kumar Thapliyal. The cast included Som Ganguly, Shyamla Dixit, Ankur Saxena and Nitish Bhardwaj.
The second day saw the play ‘Khatar Patar Ki Takkar’ being presented by Nisarg. It was written and directed by Lalit Singh Pokhariya. The ensemble for this play included Trehan Rana, Harshit Singh, Lalit Singh Pokhariya and Faiz Qureshi.
The three day festival concluded on Tuesday with the play ‘Love in December’ written by Rivaldo and directed by Sadik Raza Khan. Som Ganguly and Ayushi Singh were the principal actors in this play. The play was presented by Hausla Foundation.
