Actor Diana Penty honoured at conclave
Diana Penty was recently invited to a women achievers conclave in Delhi. The event aimed at celebrating women from various fields and honouring them for having made an impact in the Indian society. Diana was felicitated for her accomplishments in the entertainment industry. She also spoke about her journey, and advised other women and aspiring actors.
About her experience, Diana said, “It was an absolute honour to be a part of the conclave and to share a platform with amazing women. It was a conversation about my journey, from a model to an actor, my body of work, the obstacles along the way, and life in general as an actor in the Indian film industry.”
Is she happy with the way her career has shaped up? “Yes, but I also have a long way to go and a lot more to achieve. Finding the right films can sometimes be a slow, and frustrating process. So, I took my time initially. But somewhere along the way, I developed this hunger to do a lot more work and to do it a lot quicker,” she says.
Looking back, she feels that she has certainly progressed from where she began.
“I was a complete outsider to the industry and was really lucky to have a debut like Cocktail (2012). Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet and work with some incredible people along the way. I’m also happy that I’ve had the opportunity to play the kind of roles that I have and be part of films that I’ve truly enjoyed working on,” says the Happy Bhag Jayegi (2016) actor.
