City’s theatre lovers were in for a treat with an Urdu com­edy, Jan­nat Se Jaun Eliya pre­sented by Har­fkaar Theatre Group was re­cently staged at Sangeet Natak Academy.

Artistes from Delhi to were part of the play that was writ­ten by An­war Maq­sood, di­rected by Kokab Farid and drama­tised by Urdu po­ets Azhar Iqbal, Swap­nil Ti­wari, Ankit Gau­tam. This was the first time when Har­fkaar pre­sented a play in the city.

Spe­cial guest for the day was poet Ab­hishek Shukla and event was an­chored by Sabra Habib . Other em­i­nent per­son­al­i­ties of city too were present dur­ing the show.

The play was full of hu­mour with a num­ber sha­yari cou­plets that were the high­light of the event. The plot of play was the idea of Jaun Eliya go­ing to ‘Jan­nat’ and meet­ing great Urdu po­ets like Mir, Ghalib, Sauda and oth­ers. In this play ac­tor Kokab Fa­reed played the role of Jaun Eliya sup­ported by other artistes Ka­mal, Zaf­far, Ka­jal, Kapil, Muzaf­far, and oth­ers. Other sup­port­ive mem­bers were Sind­baad who sup­ported stage back­ground, Pankaj on light and sound and Sa­jid as makeup artist. Fa­reed soon will be seen mak­ing a Bol­ly­wood de­but along with ac­tor/politi­cian Paresh Rawal’s son.
