A POETIC JOURNEY
“My elder daughter got admission at Chelsea School in Shimla but since she came from a joint family background she took time in settling down in hostel. She getting homesick all the time made me write poetic consolation letters to her in English,” says Rajiv.
“It was during visits to Shimla I met poet Dr Som Ranchan. He heard my poetry and motivated me to write more. His encouragement, guidance and support resulted into my first poetry collection – Conch Shell And Cowries - in 1998,” states Rajiv who even began writing novel which is yet to publish as he is not satisfied with it.
In 2014, two more books ‘A Monument to Pigeons’ and ‘Love is Lot of Work’ were published by Rajiv Khandelwal followed by another compilation of his poems titled ‘A Time To Forget’. Incidentally, the theme of most of these creations was love. “That’s because I had a love marriage with Seema,” he says.
