Gang of girls on the go!

The girls’ gang, including actors Chitrashi Rawat, Pushtiie Shakti, Nikita Dutta, Anshul, Neelam, was at Fever FM, Lucknow to promote their new web series waiting to be streamed from next week.

The group was all elated being in the city of nawabs, Mahi Way famed actor Pushtiie says, “I have been to Lucknow earlier and I always enjoy coming here. For me it’s more than Bada Immabada and kebabs. People here are so amazing and it’s great to come back and meet them again and again.”

The viewers these days are flooded with too many web series. Agreeing to the fact, Nikita Dutta who was last seen with actor Zayed Khan in Haasil says “We as an actor understand that too much is happening at the same time. Till last year, nobody thought that web will become such a big medium but as there is still no censorship, it’s easy for the makers to produce web series. Also the content is there without any unnecessary cuts and issues. As actors we too want that at least some medium should be free of censorship so that creativity can be brought to the fore but we nowhere support abusive language or unnecessary exposure.”

The series is a light hearted story of the girls that play characters who never meet. “It was only in trailer that I saw what others have done,” adds Neelam. “It is a story of five prospective brides but their lives run parallel to each other linked through a common thread — the boy— whom the girls meet from a marriage agency. Ayesha (Anshul Chauhan) is a successful voice over artist but she’s never waxed her body. Anu (Neelam Sivia) is India’s modern young woman who works as a coder in an MNC. But, she’s bald. Faiza (Chitrashri Rawat) has a way with words, she is an aspiring poet but one with really colourful language. Chak De girl Chitranshi too will be seen playing a pivotal role in the series, “When I was offered ‘Aafat’ I knew that this will be a roller coaster ride for viewers and will not only make them laugh but also entertain them. It would make them feel as if it were their own story.
