For Kareena, Irrfan is the biggest Khan
The actor says she’s very excited to be working with him in a film, even though she has a small role in it
With more and more actors starring in biopics, model-turnedactor Sobhita Dhulipala too aspires to dabble in this space one day. Asked which public figure she would like to play on celluloid and Sobhita says, “Legendary singer Geeta Dutt, who has sung over 1,200 songs in Hindi films.”
The 26-year-old actor, seen in films such as Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016), Chef (2017) and Kaalakaandi (2017), feels it will be “challenging as well as overwhelming” to step into the shoes of Dutt.
“I don’t know how I would feel about playing someone who I look up to, but it will be interesting to see her journey captured on the big screen,” says Sobhita, who will next be seen in the second seasons of the web series Made In Heaven.
The actor shares that she
was such a big fan of Geeta Dutt that she was “obsessed with her.
“I was fascinated by the story of Geeta Dutt and had read everything about her life and watched all her music videos. I look up to her and am a big fan of her singing,” Sobhita says.
It wasn’t just her songs that people were a fan of. The actor says, “The smile that she carried on her face and the way she used to dress up was gorgeous.”
One thing that doesn’t inspire the actor is the “remake of old films” and thus, she would never be a part of such a remake. “Nobody should make remakes in life. There are so many stories of different kinds waiting to burst on to the big screen. There is so much to explore than cash in on the remake of old hits,” she shares.
