Be it outside the gym, at a restaurant, or while spotted at the airport, celebrities are under the constant scanner to look their best. There have been times when many actors have been trolled for sporting a no makeup look or criticised for their ensemble. Actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who prefers to keep her style subtle when not shooting, feels that in the time of social media, people tend to receive extreme reactions, but they shouldn’t take it to heart.

“I don’t think about such things too seriously. I would rather find something comfortable and wear it. That’s about it. I can’t think any more than that. When it comes to makeup, I don’t necessarily wear it when I don’t have to. I’m quite comfortable in my own skin. What I do is take good care of my skin, sleep and eat well and stay happy,” she says.

Being an actor, Aditi says she would rather put her mind and soul in bettering her art rather than paying heed to her airport looks that has sort of become the latest fad. “Whatever effort I can invest I would want to put it on my acting. My energy is driven towards that and not my airport looks. My work gives me immense pleasure, and when I get to work on good stories, with great filmmakers and actors, it brings a glow on my face,” says the actor, who is busy with projects such as Psycho, V, Dhanush’s next and The Girl on The Train.

Aditi further shares that what one chooses to wear should be solely his or her decision and the person should have the liberty to make their choice. “One can suggest but it’s not right to make negative comments. What I like might not be loved by others. That does not mean that my choice is wrong and everyone else is right. I’m very instinctive when it comes to fashion. I dress up the way I want to at that point in time. I don’t think I have a particular kind of style. I know some people would do anything to be fashionable, that’s good but they sometimes overdo it. Being fashionable is not a burden; it’s an extension of who you are. There’s no need to fit into any kind of norm,” Aditi says.

You’ve heard him croon to mushy, romantic tracks such as Bol Do Na Zara and Hua Hai Aaj Pehli Baar, but singer Armaan Malik has never sung a breakup song. This realisation germinated into Armaan’s latest song, Tootey Khab, in which he plays a guy dealing with a breakup with his girlfriend.

The singer feels that relationships have become very “fickle” nowadays. He says, “No one has heard me sing a heart break song. Love mein aisa nahi hai ki every day is going to be rosy, nice and happy. There are going to be days when you will experience a heart break. My basic inspiration was from friends and how they’ve handled relationships which have become very fickle — aaj pyaar hai, kal nahi hai. I wanted to capture that feeling among today’s generation.”

In the video, a girl is shown breaking up with Armaan over a text and we wonder if it’s inspired from any real life incident. Quick to refute any such similarities, he says, “People are asking me, ‘Have you broken up?’ and I’m like, ‘No, don’t misunderstand, it’s not my breakup’. Obviously, breakups happen to everyone in their life. I wanted to put out a song which is relatable. People have been messaging me — this is like my real life. Breakups are so common these days.”

The 24-year-old agrees that depression among youngsters is on the rise, and heartbreak is one of the reasons behind it.“There are people who go into a shell, and don’t want to come out of that. I used that in the video of my song. My character releases a song six months after the breakup. It becomes a hit, and then the girl who had broken his heart messages him, ‘I miss who we were together’, hinting at a possibility of getting back together. In the video, I read the message, smile, shut my phone, and enter the tour bus which says Breakup Tour. In the song, my message is that one should not be bogged down by breakup, or think life is going down the drain. Life isn’t worthless after a breakup, it’s what you make out of it after that,” he says.
