La Martiniere Girls’ Alumni Association organised the ‘Diwali Dance Dhamaka’ on its campus recently. The fun-filled evening comprised dance, music, games and prizes. The college auditorium reverberated with the dancing footsteps of more than 400 students and alumnus. The musical score by DJ Moni was a big hit with the young participants. They thoroughly enjoyed the interesting games and many were lucky to win prizes. The evening ended with a sparkling display of fireworks.
Alumnus Shambhavi Pandey was crowned Diwali
Queen, Lavanya Dhakrey of Class 3 was crowned Diwali Princess while alumnus Surabhi Garg was crowned the Best Dancer. The lucky draw hamper was won by Sanvi Sharma of Class 3.
A few days before, the third edition of two-day Farida Abraham Memorial Debate and Quiz was held in the campus that began with inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the college principal A Dass. The debate and quiz is dedicated to the memory of former principal F Abraham, who had served the college from 1997 to 2016. 14 teams from Lucknow, New
Delhi, Shimla, Jaipur, Aravalli, Bareilly, and Kolkata participated.
In debate, the winning team was La Martiniere Girls’ College, represented by Spriha Mehrotra, Vrinda Chaturvedi and Kriti Ghai. Kriti Ghai won the best speaker. The runnerup team was Vasant Valley School, Delhi, represented by Sanaa Sharma, Prithvi Oak and Abhimanyu Kumar. The winning team in the quiz was La Martiniere Girls’ College and the winning participants were Manya Manral and Simran Mehra. The runner-up team was La Martiniere for Girls’, Kolkata.
