Liam Payne clarifies girlfriend’s age
One Direction star Liam Payne has hit back at a fan who accused him of starting his relationship with girlfriend Maya Henry when she was 17.
The 26-year-old singer has been dating model Maya, 19, for a year. But one fan became convinced that she’s actually 18, meaning Liam started dating her when she was 17. The fan also claims Maya is still a senior in high school, reports mirror.co.uk.
The fan shared a screen shot of an internet biography that listed Maya’s age as 18, alongside a line from an article saying she’s 19 and a snap of her and Liam together in July 2018.
Suggesting a conspiracy was hiding her true age, they said: “Every article about Liam’s girlfriend says she’s 19 when she’s actually 18. This is intentional because when fabricating this ridiculous PR campaign for her they said that they’ve been together for a year, which would mean that Liam was dating a 17-year-old. She’s a senior in HS.”
Liam, who shares twoyear-old son Bear with his ex, Cheryl, responded to the fan on Twitter. “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet,” he wrote.
Many fans supported him and slammed the Twitter user for trying to get attention by posting about Liam’s relationship.
Not many may know that actor Satyajeet Dubey is the grandnephew of the late actor, director and writer Satyadev Dubey, who penned films such as Bhumika (1977) and Junoon (1978).
While he rarely talks about it, he has an interesting story to share about how Dubey senior wasn’t keen on Satyajeet joining films. “He was disconnected with his own family. He is a character who is guru to stalwarts from the industry. He is a pioneer of the Bombay theatre circuit. I met him when I was younger, but I met him properly in 2007. He was famous for scolding,” shares Satyajeet.
Shocking as it may sound, the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017) and Prassthanam actor continues, “As a 17-year-old, I told him that I want to become an actor and this is the only job that would satisfy me. He threw a chappal at me. He said, ‘Go and try to survive here as it’s not easy’. He wanted me to earn and look after my mothers and sisters. But I was sure this was what I wanted to do.”
All the same, Satyajeet, who debuted in Bollywood with Always Kabhi Kabhi (2011), remembers his “bittersweet equation” with his granduncle fondly. “He never showed his emotional and vulnerable side to anyone. We would go for our little chats at Prithvi (Theatre, Mumbai)... I was never trained by him or worked with him,” says Satyajeet, adding that he never throws his granduncle’s name around for work. “I want to create my own identity,” the 29-year-old concludes.
