Shivoham, an art exhibition by Dr Archana Gupta was inaugurated at the Lalit Kala Academy, Aliganj on Saturday.
Dr Rajendra Prasad, the HoD of the Fine Arts department at the Shakuntala Mishra Rashtriya Rehabilitation University was the chief guest at the inauguration. Mohammed Ishaq, Shakeel Ahmed, and Devendra Tripathi were also present at the inauguration.
The exhibition includes a series of 36 knife paintings which depict different sceneries. Gupta has done exhibitions previously such as the one in collaboration with the Rajya Lalit Kala Academy in 2017. However, Shivoham is her first solo exhibition.
With a PhD in Hindi, Gupta has always been interested in literature, music, and art. “I’ve lived in Dehradun for about 13 years, and I think that’s where most of my inspiration comes from. Spirituality and Kailash Parbat attracts me a lot. I used teach art in Hardoi as well. I was thinking of doing a solo exhibition since a long time, and I finally got to do it now,” said Gupta.
Many of her paintings have Kailash in its backdrop and she has showcased various shades of the same. She has learnt the knife art from Mohammed Ishaq and has used water colours for painting.
