Shah Rukh Khan is not India’s identity: Arjun

-

Arecent show launch, which saw actor Arjun Kapoor answering questions on topics like STDs and unwanted pregnancies, got an interesting twist when the 37-year-old decided to slam a journalist for his question. The reporter asked that despite our country’s culture and identity being the one that forbids a person from having sex before marriage, why did he think it was okay to have multiple partners and open sex before or after marriage. The journalist quoted actor Shah Rukh Khan’s dialogue from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), ‘Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hain, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti hai aur pyaar bhi ek baar hota hai’.

In response, Kapoor said, “Shah Rukh Khan is not India’s identity. And I don’t think he is promoting anything like this.” He added that there are many highs and lows in a person’s life and further explained, “You explore several relationships. When you decide to get married, it is a bigger deal than not being married. There are processes to reach that stage.”

The Ek Villain Returns actor, who is dating actor Malaika Arora, also asked, “How will you know if a person is right for you?” adding that people in the age group of 18 to 20 don’t fully understand love. They often realise later that they want to focus on their careers or that their relationship is not working out. Kapoor said exploring relationships should be allowed.
