Donald Trump’s return to Twitter gets memefied

After nearly two years, former US President Donald Trump’s Twitter account was reinstated on Sunday. This came after a poll put out by Twitter chief Elon Musk, who asked: “Reinstate former President Trump?”

Trump’s Twitter account was permanently suspended in January 2021. More than 15 million people responded to Musk’s poll, with 51.8% of users saying they wanted Trump back. He then wrote, “The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated.” He also used the Latin phrase Vox Populi, Vox Dei, which translates to “the voice of the people is the voice of God”.
