Rutuja Sawant vows to never date a co-star
RI feel that when two people, who are working together, get into a relationship, it’s a disaster as the focus shifts from work to your partner.
utuja Sawant has been in the industry for nearly four years. During this time, the actor says she’s learned many lessons — both on the professional as well as personal fronts. And one of her biggest learnings, Sawant admits, has been to never date a co-star. Confessing that she was once romantically involved with a fellow actor, she says that dating someone you work with can be a “disaster” for many reasons. While she doesn’t reveal her ex’s identity, the Ek Villain Returns actor shares, “When I started my journey in showbiz, I was in a relationship with my co-star. In the initial stages, it was a very lovey-dovey story. We used to woo each other and enjoy the pure love and bliss of a relationship. But along the way, it lost its charm.” Things gradually turned sour, says the actor, who is currently working on a supernatural drama on the small screen. She adds, “I didn’t even understand how it came to an end.”
Calling this a valuable takeaway, Sawant, 23, tells us, “The relationship taught me to never date someone who is your co-star, because the relationship ends with the show.” She adds that this also has a bearing on your work as it steers one’s focus away. “I feel that when two people, who are working together, get into a relationship, it’s a disaster as the focus shifts from work to your partner. Maybe other people would have a different opinion on this, but I have started to believe this based on my experience,” says Sawant, who started her journey in showbiz in 2019 with the television show, Choti Sardaarni.
Wrapping up, the actor reveals she is single, and is not looking for a relationship. “I am very happy being single at the moment. While I have decided to never get in a relationship with any co-star, it’s not like I want to remain single forever. I surely want to get into a relationship with the right person at the right time,” she ends.
