Members of the AngloIndian community came together for a meet and greet bash in the city, recently.
Addressing the meet , chief guest for the day, Barry O’Brien former MLA and the president of the All-India Anglo-Indian Association, said, “Ours is an oldest and largest association of Anglo-Indians that was established in 1876. Today it has 63 branches spread over all over the country. Such meetings give us an opportunity to be together and talk our heart out.”
The affair was attended by city’s who’s who including Peter Fanthome, the chairman of the Frank Anthony Schools amongst others.
O’Brien who is also an author and is well known for series of educational books for over four decades. His latest book titled The Anglo-Indians: A portrait of a Community took five years to complete. He was in Lucknow for the state launch of the book.
Telling more about the book, Adrian Michael the president of the Lucknow Branch, added, “The book is a most comprehensive collection ever published about AngloIndians. We want the book content to reach far and wide.”
Talking to the attendees over a light chit-chat O’Brien shared a few anecdotes and urged the youth to come forward to do their bit for the community as well as nation as a whole.
The event saw a few fun sub events along with a talk session before the dinner.
