We should be very careful while talking about our soldiers

Actor Richa Chadha’s now-deleted offensive tweet mocking the Indian Army has received backlash from many, including people from the film fraternity. Speaking to us, Amit Sadh, too, shares his reactions, saying that he holds the Indian Armed forces in the highest regard. While the actor, who is an Army kid, admits that he “isn’t fully aware” of the controversy caused by Chadha’s tweet, he asserts that it is because of unnecessary “chaos” like these that he likes to stay away from the microblogging site.

“I am not exactly aware of the scenario, but I will say this: The Indian Armed forces should be respected, and we should be very careful while we are talking about our soldiers,” shares the 42-year-old, who has played an Army officer in two of his projects, Avrodh: The Siege Within and Jeet Ki Zid.

He adds, “We are living [freely] because of the sacrifices made by these people. We must stand by each other by living in harmony, supporting our soldiers, and lifting each other’s spirits. This is the best way to show our gratitude to the armed and special forces protecting our borders 24x7 every single day.”
