Veteran actor- filmmaker Deepti Naval was in Lucknow for a talk session and discussion based on her new memoir- A Country Called Childhood. Talking about her new memoir, the Chashme Buddoor and Katha actor shared that she started taking notes for her book over two decades ago. “I would often ask my parents to tell me about their lives-- both as individual­s and together as a family. I used to sit with them and talked about how they looked at their lives in old age, and their struggles to make our lives.” The dialogue was moderated by author Yatindra Mishra.

Naval discussed in detail about her journey from childhood till now. She also shared how often she used to go to ace writer Amrita Pritam’s place. “It was a very sweet relationsh­ip between us. Though I did this play

Mulakat which was about Amrita and Sahir (Ludhianvi). But personally, I used to see Amrita and Imroz’s love story more as an ideal.”

The organising group FICCI Flow Lucknow Chapter’s chairperso­n Simu Ghai, senior IAS Officer Sangeeta Singh, Swati Verma, Pooja Garg along with Madhuri Halwasiya were present at the event.

The award-winning actor also interacted with organising members.
