Plan well to succeed

- Rachna Mehra

There is a saying, “Always plan ahead.” And, “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.” Achieving goals is not about discipline, it’s about motivation.

Sometimes when you are hungry, you expect to get results immediately and you become impatient; but one needs to let go of expectations because a dream does have a life of its own.

For example, if you want to lose weight, shed a few kg of weight at a time and you want to run a marathon, you are not going to meet those miles in seconds. You need months of training. Don’t give up and stick to your abilities, and results will show up on their own.

But, at times, it’s good to break goals into small manageable goals. Why? Because at times, it is hard- er to keep motivation going for a long time.

Reward yourself. Write to each of your goals a reward. It could be something appropriate like watch a movie, go visit somebody you haven’t spent time with. And because you are working hard, play hard too.

Find inspiration. Tap in, tune in and keep your emotional energy up. Stay afloat.

Take coaching, transformational courses, and go for reading inspirational books as they keep you moving. They help you in planning and taking action in the right direction.

Have powerful reasoning to why you want to achieve a dream. Know your reasons and then desire your goal, keeping in mind the destiny you are headed to.

When you have urges to quit, have a plan in advance, and know what you are going to do if that happens.
