MAAZ MURDER CASE: SHOOTER BUNTY ARRESTED IN MAU

VARANASI: The police on Friday night arrested Ajeet Yadav 'Bunty', a shooter allegedly involved in the sensational murder of Class 8 boy Maaz in Lucknow. Official sources confirmed the arrest in Mau. Maaz was sprayed with bullets at his residence in Indira Nagar, on May 29 by four assailants hired by inspector Sanjay Rai.

VARANASI: The police on Friday night arrested Ajeet Yadav ‘Bunty’, a shooter allegedly involved in the sensational murder of Class 8 boy Maaz in the state capital. Official sources confirmed the arrest in Mau.

Maaz was sprayed with bullets at his residence in Indira Nagar, Lucknow, on May 29 by four assailants hired by inspector Sanjay Rai, who was with the crime branch of the Lucknow police.

Rai hired four contract killers to eliminate Maaz, who was the cousin brother of his ladylove and stayed with her at the Indira Nagar residence. Rai had masterminded Maaz’s killing to implicate one Akmal, who had come close to his ladylove.

According to cops, Rai’s name surfaced in the case after the arrest of three persons, including his domestic help Ram Babu and two hired shooters, Ajit Rai and Rahul Rai, on June 9.

Taking serious note of the policeman’s involvement in the sensational murder case, the state government has terminated him from the service.

Bunty Yadav’s involvement is also suspected in the murder of Satish Singh, cousin of mafioso Brijesh Singh, as the shooter’s location was traced around the crime scene. Satish was murdered at Dhaurahara on July 3 when he was on a morning walk.

Bunty reached Varanasi only 10 hours before the murder and stayed there for at least seven hours after the killing.

The police officer said Yadav stayed at his friend’s house in Parshurampur locality.
