‘Clean energy a necessity’

LUCKNOW: “Clean energy is not a slogan but a necessity,” said GB Patnaik, former principal secretary to the UP governor and also former vice chancellor of Lucknow University, while inaugurating an all India Seminar on bio-energy organised by the Institution of Engineers (India), UP State Centre. He emphasised the need of bio-energy as conventional energy had become costly and coal and oil reserves were being exhausted. Principal secretary, science and technology, UP, Dr Harsharan Das, stressed that bio-energy was need of the hour as oil reserves were depleting and becoming costly.
