BJP, CONGRESS QUESTION RULING PARTY’S MOVE

-

LUCKNOW: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit out at the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh for embracing scam-tainted former BSP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha’s wife Shivkanya and brother Shivsharan, saying that this showed the dual character of the ruling party.

The Congress too has taken strong exception to the induction of the duo into the SP fold.

Speaking for the BJP, its state chief Laxmikant Bajpai said, “On the one hand, the UP government has given the go-ahead to the vigilance department to register an FIR against Kushwaha. On the other hand, it has welcomed his relatives into the party fold. This proves that the SP leadership isn’t serious about probing scams that took place during the BSP regime. Bajpai said, “Since both the SP and the BSP have supported the Congress government at the centre, which in turn controls the CBI, it proves the nexus between the SP, BSP and the Congress.”

Meanwhile, in a press statement, UPCC spokesman Sayed Zishan Haider said the induction of the tainted leader’s family members for vote bank politics had exposed the Samajwadi Party.
