FIROZABAD: In yet another brutal incident, a three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Humayunpur locality in Firozabad on Saturday night.

The accused stayed as tenant in the house of the victim’s father. He managed to escape after the incident but was later nabbed on Sunday.

A named FIR has been registered at Firozabad South police station against the accused while the girl was taken to District Hospital for medical examination.

The accused identified as Sanju, in his early twenties, works in Delhi and lived in a rented accommodation in Humayunpur. He was married only two months ago and his wife was away at her parent’s house. The rented room was on the upper floor of the two-storeyed house where the accused resided with his mother and sister. His aunt was also living on rent on the same premises.

The accused returned from Delhi on Saturday night and called the victim to his room to have mangoes that he had brought. The little girl followed him to his room on the upper floor where the accused allegedly raped her.

When she did not return for long, her father started looking for her and later found her in an unconscious state in the room of Sanju. Mother of the victim tried to catch the accused, but he managed to escape.

“Report was lodged at Firozabad South police station on Sunday and search was lodged for the accused who wa s later arrested,” said additional superintendent of police Rakesh Pandey.

Meanwhile, the matter had ignited protests early in the day. The locals led by political leaders staged road blockade at Suhag Nagar crossing and Subhash Tiraha. The anger was pacified only after the arrest of the accused.
