NEW DELHI: Industrialist Anil Ambani’s wife Tina on Friday appeared before a special court as a CBI witness in the 2G spectrum case to explain alleged links of the Reliance Group with some of the companies facing probe.

“I have no role in running of Reliance ADA Group, as I am a housewife, run a hospital and do a lot of social work. I have never been associated with any company of this group,” Tina Ambani told special judge OP Saini.

During her close to two hour testimony, she said she did not know any company by the name of Zebra Consultants (P) Ltd, Swan Consultants (P) Ltd, Parrot Consultants (P) Ltd, Tiger Traders (P) Ltd, ADAE Ventures (P) Ltd or AAA Consultancy Services. The CBI alleged that these were shell companies created to conceal Reliance Telecom Ltd’s alleged links with Swan Telecom, which the CBI alleged was a front company of RTL.

As Tina Ambani failed to recall about the companies relating to which she signed t he documents, t he CBI claimed she was “deliberately withholding facts” and the court allowed the CBI to cross-examine her.

On Thursday, her husband Anil Ambani was cross-examined by CBI lawyer after he retracted from his statement made to the agency during the probe in February, 2011.
