- HT Correspondent

A peon in a school, Manoj, was arrested by the Mohanlalganj police for sending obscene messages to a student, pressurising her for a relationship and taking pictures through cell phone without her permission.

Manoj was arrested after a complaint was lodged with the Mahila Thana that the girl was harassed in school. Though the school management had fired Manoj after coming to know about his misdeeds, he continued to trouble the girl and even sent a post containing her pictures taken on school campus along with a letter demanding sexual favours.

He threatened her that he would circulate her pictures if she did not fulfil his demands.

Investigation revealed that the SIM card used to send messages to the girl was obtained on a fake identity. Cops arrested the accused after investigations proved he had sent the SMS and messages and was harassing the girl.

TWO YOUTHS TRY TO MOLEST MINOR GIRL

Miscreants tried to molest a minor girl and when they failed, they attempted to kill her in front of her family on Thursday evening.

According to Sonu, a resident of Bahaadurkhera village in Mohanlalganj, two youths Ashok and Rajendra of the same village forced their entry into his house when he was not at home and tried to take away his sister, who was sitting in the courtyard.

When she refused to go with them, they threatened her and then noosed her with her scarf. Hearing her cry, the youngest sister of Sonu screamed for help and hearing her, Sonu’s mother, who was working in the fields nearby, came rushing.

The miscreants ran away but were identified by the mother who told Sonu when he came back. The minor girl was taken to hospital for first aid and medical examination and a complaint was lodged with the police.
