- Peeyush Khandelwal

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Ajit Singh on Sunday slammed Narendra Modi at an election rally in Ghaziabad.

“If Modi speaks from anywhere in the country, his speech is screened for two hours. I know how much television channels spend even for a 15-minute programme. I would like to question Modi from where he brought expenses of ` 6000 crore,” Singh said at the Ramlila Grounds in Sanjay Nagar.

As Congress candidate Raj Babbar was absent, Singh had to initiate the address. “Modi has just one dream — to become the Prime Minister and then he will

take on the minorities and even his party men. The recent riots in Western UP were political riots and not communal. It was planned by the BJP and the Samajwadi Party (SP) for political gains. The Supreme Court also slammed the SP government. Still, three of the accused are contesting elections. Who will answer this?” he said.

Singh also slammed paid news elements in the media and mocked the surveys conducted in the wake of the general elections. “I respect the media but there is always an element of paid news. NDA’s popularity is otherwise on a decline,” he said.

He also took a dig at the SP led UP government. “UP has 4.5 chief ministers. While one gives some order, it is reverted by the other leaders. Crime is on a rise and the police are under pressure. They are more worried about Azam Khan’s cattle than tackling crime and criminals. Be aware of the Modi-Mulayam tie-up. It is time to get rid of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), SP and BJP,” Singh added.

He further said, “If Modi becomes the Prime Minister, what will happen if gets control of agencies such as the Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing and Central Bureau of Investigation.”

“Modi should be thrown into the sea,” he mocking told the gathering. Singh’s arrival to Ghaziabad was seen as an exercise to polarize around 1.25 lakh jaat voters in favor of Raj Babbar.
