29 IPS officers get new postings

The state government on Friday gave new postings to 29 Indian Police Service (IPS) officials, including 22 officers who were removed from their current postings on the directions of the Election Commission (EC) last month.

At least 23 IPS officers including three DIGs and 20 superinten­dents of police (SP) were removed after political parties expressed apprehensi­ons of officials working in a partisan manner in order to assist the ruling party in the elections.

According to sources, the state government, however, has not provided field postings to any of the officials.

The list comprises Satyendra Kumar Kaul, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Economic Offence Wing, Lucknow, who is now DIG (Rules and Manual), Lucknow, while Suvendra Kumar Bhagat, the DIG who was in waiting, has been made the DIG (Establishm­ent) at police headquarte­rs in Allahabad.

Rajendra Prasad Chaturvedi is now Superinten­dent of Police (CB-CID), Lucknow, while Ashok Kumar Tandon, DIG (PTS), Moradabad is DIG (special probe), Lucknow. Ashok Kumar Raghav is DIG (Intelligen­ce) at Lucknow head office, Jitendra Pratap Singh is DIG (PTS), Gorakhpur, while Gulab Singh is DIG, PAC, Lucknow sector.

Yashasvi Yadav, who was removed as SSP Kanpur on high court orders, has been posted as commandant, 32nd PAC battalion in Lucknow, Dharamveer is new commandant, 49th PAC battalion in Gautambudd­h Nagar, SS Singh has been made commandant, 35th PAC battalion in Lucknow and Ajay Mohan Sharma is deputy director (Traffic), Traffic directorat­e in Lucknow.

Three SPs Vijay Kumar Dixit, Jawahar and Udai Shankar Jaiswal have been given posting at CB-CID, Lucknow while three officers SK Verma, UK Srivastava and RP Pandey have been posted as SPs at Intelligen­ce headquarte­rs, Lucknow.

Pradeep Kumar Yadav has been posted as SP Police Computer Centre, RPS Yadav is new SP GRP, Lucknow, Ram Kishore is new SP SCRB, KP Singh is SP Vigilance, Lucknow and Arvind Sen is SP Anti-Corruption Organisati­on, Lucknow.

Rajesh Krishna has been posted as commandant, 10th PAC battalion in Barabanki, VD Shukla is new commandant, 24th PAC battalion in Moradabad, Dharmendra Singh is new commandant, 6th PAC battalion in Meerut, Deepika Tiwari, who is SP Police Training School in Meerut, will take over as commandant, 44th PAC battalion in Meerut, Sadhana Goswami is new SP (Administra­tion) at DGP Head quarters in Lucknow, SRA Kulkarni has been made SP of GRP, Moradabad and Bharat Singh is new commandant, 28th PAC battalion in Etawah.
