KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board’s concerted efforts to get bilateral series with India finally seem to be paying off with the BCCI promising to confirm its agreement over tours within a week’s time.

A PCB official, giving details of the discussions the PCB Chairman Najam Sethi held with other officials including the Indians in the two-day ICC executive board meeting in Dubai, said the Indian Board had agreed to some bilateral series over the next eight-year cycle.

But the BCCI has had asked for a week’s time to confer with their members and government before getting back to Pakistan.

“Basically they have said they will ratify their bilateral agreements with Pakistan in a week’s time,” the official stated.

“The two boards are planning to have a one-day series before the World Cup in 2015 but a full series will only be possible in December that year.” NO FOREIGN TOURS FOR NATIONAL SELECTORS

MUMBAI: The Cricket Board has decided not to send national selectors abroad to watch the Indian team play overseas, according to BCCI’s vice president Ravi Savant.

“I think now these national selectors will not be travelling out of country. Those days the selectors also used to travel out of country if the team is on tour... yes, it’s the Board’s policy that they will not be sent out with the Indian team,” said Savant. PAKISTAN MAY CUT AJMAL’S COUNTY STINT

LAHORE: Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal’s stint with English county Worcestershire may be set for a shorter duration to compensate for his country’s hastilyarranged Test and one-day series against Sri Lanka.

“We are still discussing how much time he (Ajmal) can be away as we now have a scheduled series in Sri Lanka,” said PCB COO Subhan Ahmed.

PCB finalised a two-Test and three one-day match series in Sri Lanka, which is likely to interrupt Ajmal’s stint with Worcestershire for whom he also played in 2011.
