Ton-up Hamza seals it for St Mary

LUCKNOW: A sparkling 55-ball 101 from the blade of Hamza Khan powered St Mary’s to a sevenwicke­t win over Francisian­s in a match of Sai Alumni League T-20 Night Cricket Tournament, at the Sai Greens ground on Friday.

Batting first, Francisian­s posted 194/6 in the stipulated 20 overs with Ali Rizvi scoring a superb 58. Saad Rais also chipped in with a useful 35. Md Moiz claimed 3/29 for the bowling side.

In reply, St Mary’s reached home in only 17.4 overs with Hamza taking the opposition attack to cleaners during his scintillat­ing knock. He was ably supported by Apoorv Gupta from the other end as he scored a wellcompos­ed 47.

CAL Green were bowled out for 147 batting first with Priyanshu scything through their batting. In reply, Blue reached home in 37 overs with Vikas Deep Yadav anchoring the run-chase with elan on his way to a gritty 37.

In another match, CAL Yellow pipped CAL Red by two wickets, thanks to a superb 52 by Amit Rai, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium.

CAL Red posted 180/7, thanks to Siddharth Sharma’s blazing 94. CAL Yellow overhauled the target in 38.2 overs, in reply.
