LUCKNOW: Congress national spokesperson and Lucknow Lok Sabha candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi has said that BJP national president and her opponent Rajnath Singh is relying on turncoats in the electoral battle against her.

Talking to journalists here on Sunday, she said Singh was scared in the Lucknow contest and this was the reason why he relied on the support of turncoats like Neeraj Bora who she said was lured by the BJP.

Joshi said Bora, who quit as Congress Lucknow city president on Sunday, was a rank opportunist. She said the Congress adopted him when he was shown the door by the BSP and even made him party candidate for the mayor and also gave the ticket for the Vidhan Sabha election in 2012. Joshi claimed Bora had been on the radar for last 15 days for his ‘suspicious activities’.

Joshi said that soon former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s niece Karuna Shukla would come to the city to campaign for her and would expose how the BJP treated Vajpayee.

Meanwhile, UPCC disciplinary committee chairman Ramkrishna Dwivedi claimed that Bora had been expelled from the party for six years on Saturday only. He said that party would never take him back.
