Finally, it is that time of theyear when students must leave the comfort and protection of school and move into the new world of college. This transition from school to college can mean different things to different people – whether you look at it as a struggle in an unfamiliar environment, or a breath of fresh air. It entirely depends on your perception and your preparedness to enter this world.

Be open to new experiences College is a time for new beginnings and new experiences. Things in university work differently from how they functioned in school – it is ripe with new faces and new opportunities. Don’t have high expectations, embrace experiences that come your way.

Don’t lose touch with school friends From spending every single day together, you must now part ways with those who have been with you for years. However, as much as you get engrossed with college life, make sure to stay in touch with your school friends.

Involve yourself in extra-curricular activities Universities can be a great space to explore one’s talents beyond academics. Involve yourself in any extra-curricular activity that you enjoy – it not only helps to meet new people and have fun, but also enhances your confidence.

It is a time of transition Now that you are no longer in a protected environment, new surroundings can be intimidating. Give yourself some time to adjust, and remember that everyone around you is going through the same struggle. So you are not alone.

Freedom comes with responsibility As you enter college, a whole new world opens up before you. There is a lot more freedom, but to enjoy it, you need to take responsibility for your own choices and action.

Have fun Amidst all the hard work and future targets, take some time out to cherish your time at college.
