Govt earmarks ` 100 cr for JP centre
LUCKNOW: The state government has earmarked Rs 100 crore in the current fiscal for the construction of Jai Prakash Narain international centre in Lucknow. The project, which spread over an area of 75464 square meters in Gomti Nagar, would cost Rs 678 crore.
The government has also earmarked Rs 75.10 crore for the maintenance of memorials and parks constructed during the Mayawati regime.
Presenting the annual demands of housing and urban planning department in the state assembly, minister Shivpal Yadav said there was provision of Rs 300 crore for improvement in infrastructure in Lucknow and other cities.
The government said that under Chak Ganjaria farm project a comprehensive action plan had been prepared, which included IT City, Indian Institute of Infor mation technology (IIIT), cancer institute, Medicity, super specialty hospital/cardiology centre, modern dairy project and administrative training academy on 846.49 acre land. The government has provided Rs five crore for Sanskrit school to be established in CG city.
In order to expedite Lucknow metro project, the government has provided Rs 95 crore in current budget. The government had earlier constituted a special purpose vehicle (SPV) Lucknow metro rail corporation and had given Rs 30 crore as it share.
There was also provision of Rs 200 crore for development authorities, including Lucknow development authority (LDA) for infrastructure facilities. There is also provision of Rs 50 lakh for maintenance of CSI towers, Lucknow.
Similarly, in order to provide more housing facilities to officers of civil services, there is provision of Rs 25 crore for the construction of CSI Towers-3 in CSI lawn.
