STATE GOVT OKAYS KASHI MASTER PLAN 2031

Finally, the state government on Thursday approved Master Plan 2031 for Varanasi’s overall development. The Master Plan 2031 envisages PM Narendra Modi’s development model for Kashi- keeping heritage intact of this oldest living city in the world and also ushering in development. The most essential outer ring road is on the cards to ease traffic congestion in the city. This ring road and all other roads at the outer periphery of the city would be 80 feet wide. The Master Plan 2031 has proposed a blanket ban on construction of all high rise buildings near heritage sites. This decision has been taken to keep intact heritage structure of the city. In the garb of development, the agencies carrying out development projects would not be allowed to make any changes with historic buildings of the city.
