Peace at the border will test the success of India-China ties

This is with reference to the news report China gets Brics Bank, India to be its first head (July 16). Prime Minister Narendra Modi described his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping as “fruitful”. It is hoped that this means that the cordial meeting between the leaders will help improve ties between the two nations, especially with regard to the border issue. Modi’s definition of fruitfulness will be seen when Chinese forces vacate Indian territory in Ladakh. It is essential that New Delhi makes peace with its neighbours to avoid border disputes to prevent another war.
