LUCKNOW: It rained the whole night on Thursday, the day when the gruesome rape and murder of a woman came to light in Balsinghkheda village of Mohanlalganj. The area experienced showers on Friday and Saturday too. But even nature could not wash the signs of the inhuman act that took place on this gover nment school premises.

The bloodstains are clearly visible near the hand pump, in the verandah and on the walls of the school building even after two days of the brutal crime. The police had washed the bloodstains spread along the campus after collecting the evidence and carrying out primary investigations at the spot. But the stains can be still seen all around.

“The bloodstains will remind us that our village has a black spot. Such a brutal act happened right near us and we could not even save her. Her voice failed to reach us, else we would surely have rushed to her rescue,” said a villager while interacting with a team of social activists who visited the school premises on Saturday afternoon.

He said the bloodstains present all around the campus spoke volumes about the brutality of the incident and the assailants should get the death penalty for their evil act.

Interacting with the social activists, a group of villagers said it had been continuously raining since Thursday night, as if even gods could not hold back their tears after watching the horrific crime.

“The 35-year-old victim, a widow and mother of two kids, bled profusely before she succumbed to the injuries inflicted by the men who used her to satisfy their animal instincts,” said a local woman.

The woman said over a hundred people, including police officials, politicians, social activists, mediapersons and villagers had visited the spot but still the stains had not faded. She said it seemed that the incident took place merely a few hours ago.

“A school teacher, who is posted here, had almost fainted after watching the blood on Friday,” she stated while describing the horrific scene and added, “The stains would disappear gradually but the incident would continue to haunt us until the culprits are arrested by the police”.
