Haridwar-bound tourist bus looted in west UP, driver murdered
MUZAFFARNAGAR: A group of unidentified robbers looted pilgrims travelling on a Haridwar-bound tourist bus coming from Naulakhi in district Hanumangarh in Rajasthan. The incident occur red in Charthawal area on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
The robbers also killed the driver who tried to rescue the passengers when he sensed that they were in trouble. The pilgrims were robbed of cash and valuables worth Rs six lakh.
It is alleged, the same gang looted more than half a dozen vehicles on the same day.

As the bus reached near Haibatpur police post under Charthawal area of Muzaffarnagar, driver Sukhram (43 years) a resident of village Mohammadpura under police station Ramia of district Sirsa, noticed that some of the armed robbers were engaged in looting the vehicles by blocking the road with the help of a car.
Sukhram understood the entire situation and he immediately decided to take the bus in the backward direction, but it was too late as the robbers had already spotted the bus. Without any warning, one of them fired a gunshot at him and Sukhram died on the spot.
After this all the robbers captured the bus and looted the pilgrims and fled from the spot. Shocked over the entire episode, the pilgrims informed the police following which a police team under the leadership of SHO VN Parashar reached the spot.
On behalf of a passenger Madan Lal, an FIR against the unknown robbers has been registered.
