Three commit suicide in separate incidents

LUCKNOW: Three persons committed suicides in separate incidents in the state capital on Tuesday. Depression and financial problems are stated to be the reasons behind the incidents.

In the first incident, 19-yearold Juhie Gupta hanged herself from the ceiling fan of her room at her house in Nishatganj locality. Her father Suresh Kumar Gupta, who works in a private nursing home, spotted her body hanging when he woke up in the morning at around 5.30am. He said the girl was tensed regarding her studies, as she had failed earlier in intermedia­te examinatio­n. This session, she had filled the intermedia­te form as a private candidate.

Block, Indira Nagar. Her father AK Rao, who had recently retired from HAL, said his daughter was depressed as she was trying to get some job but had failed to achieve her goal. He said she was also preparing for Teachers Eligibilit­y Test for the past two years.

In the third incident, an electricia­n, Dharmendra Kumar Yadav (28), hanged himself from the ceiling of a room when he was alone in his house in Para at around 11am. The police said the apparent reason behind the electricia­n’s grave step was his financial problem that he was facing for the past one year.
