Governor praises Mulayam
LUCKNOW: UP Governor Ram Naik on Tuesday praised Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for his outstanding innings as politician.
“One should learn from Netaji the art of cultivating friendship even while sitting in the Opposition,” said Naik while appreciating Mulayam’s prodevelopment ideology.
The governor, who was giving away the degrees during the first convocation of Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabiliation University, Lucknow, dubbed Mulayam as an outstanding politician and a good friend.

Naik also urged students to take a pledge to serve the nation.
Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, who was also the chief guest, assured full support to the university. “University is doing a commendable job and we are always there to help it in whatever way we can,” said Akhilesh.
Stressing that his party was all for education, Akhilesh said: “Education has always been on our top priority, be it during the tenure of Netaji or mine.”
SP supremo said literacy was a tool that could keep the communal forces at bay.
He urged students to join politics in order to bring change.
“I know the communal forces are trying to disturb the peace, but if you are literate, you can identify such communal forces and contribute in crushing them,” said Mulayam.
While in all 633 degrees were awarded, 237 were awarded to the physically challenged students. As many as 77 students were awarded with medals, of these 37 were gold medals, 20 silver and 20 bronze.
